ND explores sustainability in Chicago

September 13, 2012 at 5:06 PM

This year for our annual ND Team-Building Retreat and Summer Fun Day we decided to stay local and visit some sustainable projects within city limits.

Our strategy meeting took place at Uncommon Ground, a coffeehouse / café; which has been the recipient of many "green" and sustainability awards. Free flowing lattes, an amazing breakfast and creative ideas ranging from Thought Mapping to Building Great Client Relationships were presented by each staff member and served up a great morning. After the first half of our meeting we were able to tour Uncommon Ground's rooftop farm, Chicago's first organic rooftop farm.

Our Chicago sustainability exploration then took us south on Lakeshore Drive to the Museum of Science and Industry. We continued our round table discussions on the grassy knoll of the museum, dining on faire from Xoco and surrounded by trees and the sun. We worked off our lunch by touring the Smart Home and partaking in all of the museums' interactive exhibits. We finished the day by watching the Omnimax film "Born To Be Wild."

We returned to the office the next day excited to drive ND to the next level.
